Diagnostic and
Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to
provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets'
complete health care needs.
Surgical
Services: Because Dr. Matre has a special interest
in surgery, we perform a larger number of non-routine surgical
procedures than most small-animal practices. Every animal is
examined carefully prior to surgery and is anesthetized by modern
methods and carefully monitored during surgery. We take time
and care with each surgery to assure the utmost safety and comfort
for your pet.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest
available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety,
especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most
modern equipment, such as pulse oximetry, capnography, and
blood pressure monitoring, the patient's vital signs are monitored
during all anesthetic procedures.
Radiology
Services: Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment
provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many
disorders. We also have a dental radiography unit which
allows us to take oral x-rays to determine the health of our
patient's teeth.
Laboratory: Our in-house
laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology,
serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize
commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and
consultations.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete
inventory of pharmaceuticals, shampoos and
heartworm/flea preventatives to meet the needs of your
pet.
Dentistry: Our dental services
include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth
extractions and oral surgery.
Vaccinations: For our younger
patients we offer complete pediatric programs. These programs
include repeated physical examinations, all recommended
immunizations, fecal tests for parasites and all necessary
treatments for intestinal parasites.
Dietary
Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your
pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary
requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
After Hours Advice: Please call
our main telephone number for instructions for after-hour
emergencies. If it is a reasonable hour our operator will
page a doctor with your information and someone will call you
back. If it is a true emergency you will be referred to
Ohlone Veterinary Emergency Clinic.
