K-Laser is a treatment that is becoming increasingly popular in both the human and animal medical fields. K-Laser was FDA approved in 2002, but has been used in other countries for much longer. Studies have shown laser therapy to help with joint pain and inflammation associated with arthritis in both people and their furry friends.
K-Laser, also known as cold laser therapy, uses focused red and infrared light to stimulate and influence cell chemistry deep within the tissues. We have had many clients here at Parktown Vet that noticed improvements in their pet’s mobility following regular K-Laser treatments.
In addition to treating chronic joint pain and arthritis, we also recommend this treatment for surgical and dental patients as a way to reduce inflammation and pain associated with these procedures, as well as to jump start the healing process. For most surgical and dental patients, the K-Laser treatment can be done while the pet is still waking up from anesthesia, and is a one- time treatment. For chronic problems, our doctors can set up a treatment plan to best suit your pet.
