Meet Our Staff

  • Dr. Amy

    Dr. Amy Long Goulart graduated with her BS in 2000 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has worked at Parktown since 2008. Dr. Amy taught veterinary technology at Stautzenberger college in Ohio and worked several years of emergency medicine prior to moving to California. She enjoys all aspect of veterinary medicine but has a special interest in dentistry and soft tissue surgery. Her favorite aspect of working at Parktown is the great relationships that develop between our staff and long-term clients and their pets. Dr. Amy has two dogs: Maggie, a labradoodle, and Georgia a Boston terrier. She enjoys hiking and fishing with her husband, John, and their three young kids.

  • Dr. Thur

    Dr. Cheryl Thur graduated from Washington State University with her DVM degree in 2010. Prior to getting her doctorate she received her BS in Biology and Minor in Chemistry at the University of Utah. In 2018, Dr. Thur accomplished a long term goal by completing her certification as a Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist and really enjoys using this modality to treat pain, arthritis and other challenging conditions. She has special interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and dentistry. Dr. Thur lives with her husband, a tabby named Tucker, and her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Eva. She enjoys exploring the bay area via hiking, and loves traveling, camping, playing piano, running, and birdwatching.

  • Dr. Nakagawa

    Dr. Megan Nakagawa, or Dr. Megan/Dr. N became interested in veterinary medicine as a young girl soon after convincing her parents to let her adopt a blind dog. She grew up in San Jose and attended Leigh High School. She went to undergrad at UC Davis where she majored in Animal Science and competed on the intercollegiate gymnastics team. Next, she attended Oregon State University in Corvallis where she earned her DVM in June 2010. She has a Heeler/Australian shepherd mix named Miley.

  • Michelle
    Office Manager

    Michelle keeps Parktown running smoothly and works to make sure clients, staff, and of course, our patients, have the best possible experience at our facility. If you have a special problem or request, just ask to speak to her. Michelle has been in the field since 2009 and has always had a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, with her daughter and huskies Shadow, Molly, Nico, and Benny. As well as curling up on the couch with Kitty to watch her favorite shows.

  • Tracey

    Tracey is originally from England and has lived in the US for the past three years with her husband whom she loves very much. She has been in the veterinary field since 2011 and greatly enjoys working with animals. In her free time, they enjoy hiking, reading, going to music concerts, and spending time with her two cats Cloud and Henry.

  • Blythe
    Veterinary Technician

    Blythe is one of our veterinary technicians. Blythe attended Carrington College for her veterinary technology degree and grew up in south San Jose. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and playing with her four cats: Whiskey, Piper, Dusty, and Bear.

  • Breanna
    Veterinary Technician

    Bre studied at Carrington College, is now an RVT. She has loved animals since childhood and always wanted to be in a career that involved helping animals. She would like to eventually specialize in Zoological Veterinary Medicine, specifically prenatal and neonatal. She is super grateful to be in this field and work with the awesome people at Parktown Vet.

    Veterinary Technician

    Melissa received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Carrington College, and has been working in the Veterinary field since 2012. She has been a part of the Parktown Family since 2014. In her free time she likes to crotchet and spend time with her family, that includes her fiance, kids and pets.

  • Carolyn
    Veterinary Assistant

    Carolyn's love of all animals brought her into this field. She studied at Penn Foster and is currently a Veterinary Assistant with us here. She enjoys learning and growing with the team. She likes working with both the pets and owners and enjoys empowering the owners through knowledge. Carolyn has 3 cats, Mylo, Shiloh and Jasmine and 2 dogs, Chopper and Eddie. In her spare time she likes to hike and go camping.
